Amara Ijomah

Barrister & Solicitor:

 

Amara obtained her Bachelor of Law Degree in October, 2003 in Nigeria. She attended the one year mandatory bar admission course at the Nigerian Law School for Prospective Lawyers. She was admitted to the Bar in Nigeria in October, 2004 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. From 2005 to 2008, Amara worked as a Legal Officer with a non-governmental organization in Nigeria, and subsequently practiced as a Legal Practitioner for 7 years in two law firms from 2009 to 2015. 

In June of 2015, Amara moved to Canada with her family. After settling in, she completed the assigned exams by the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) Federation of Law Societies in July 2017. While taking her NCA exams, Amara worked with Taylor & Company in Grande Prairie as a Legal Assistant from September, 2017 to May, 2018. Amara did her articles with Dobko & Wheaton, Grande Prairie, and was called to the Alberta Bar on July 13, 2018. Amara rejoined Taylor & Company in October 2018 as an associate until March of 2022. 

 

On March 31, 2022, Amara started her own practice. Amara is currently taking new clients, including Legal Aid clients. She also volunteers with Grande Prairie Legal Guidance, providing pro bono services to low-income individuals. 

Amara loves singing, reading, and enjoying family time with her husband, Frank, and their two children. 

Nnenna Nwaosu

Legal Assistant

Nnenna obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Imo State University in 2003 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of The Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2004. As a young lawyer, she joined a litigation firm in Nigeria.
 

Subsequently, she moved to the Aviation sector where she also has experience in management, travel and tours.
Upon her relocation to Canada, she has commenced the process of transitioning to law practice in Canada by registering to take the National Committee in Accreditation (NCA) examinations.

 

Nnenna loves baking and travelling and is widely travelled!
